With more than 8 years of experience in the disability and mental health field, Sam's journey started with assisting individuals in navigating the NDIS and finding impactful support services. Identifying a crucial need for reliable care that goes above and beyond, she boldly stepped into the unknown and brought Sakara Care to life.
🎓 Equipped with a Diploma of Mental Health, Certificate IV in Business, and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Sam blends academic excellence with invaluable insights from personal experiences. Having ADHD and an array of personal/lived experience, Sam intimately understands the complexities of mental health, trauma, and psychosocial and neurodiverse disabilities. Her dedication to transforming perceived limitations into strengths has been a fulfilling journey that led to the establishment of an organisation that empowers people to thrive.

Mel's dedication to continuous improvement and her unwavering focus on enhancing participant experiences make her an invaluable asset to our organisation. Whether it's coordinating schedules, resolving issues, or offering a listening ear, Mel knows how to get the job done.
🎓 Mel brings over 5 years of expertise in the Disability and Mental Health field, holding a Diploma of Community Services, Certificate III in Education Support, and currently pursuing a Certificate IV in Mental Health. By combining her academic, professional, personal, and lived experiences, Mel serves as a catalyst for positive change. Initially starting as a Learning Support Officer in education, she later transitioned into a support worker role and eventually into an operational position, where she utilised her skills and knowledge to drive impactful change. Mel is committed to empowering Sakara Care support workers to revolutionise frontline care practices and see our community thrive.
